When you first start searching for the right realtor for you, you’ll want to interview a number of different agents to get a feel for their expertise, communication style and specific-market knowledge.

After a few brief meetings, you should be able to better identify which qualities different candidates bring to the table – and therefore who should be the best person to get your home sold.

Remember, it’s important that you work with someone who comes fully equipped with ideas and solutions that are creative and effective.

You’ll also want someone who has history of closing deals regularly. Reliability, punctuality and being a general “people person” matter too.

If you’re ready to buy or sell your home in the GTA, let’s work together.

If you’re still on the fence, no pressure. Here’s a few other things to look for when on the search for finding the realtor for you.

Look for someone with great communication skills.

When you’re searching for the right realtor for you, look for someone that shows drive, initiative and strong communication skills. You’ll want to work with someone who tells you how it is, rather then just what you want to hear.

Additionally, it’s important that you always feel you have all your questions answered. Another key area where strong communication skills prove their importance.

Your realtor should be able to easily interpret and translate processes, procedures and strategies in language that you can easily understand.

You also want to make sure that you hire someone you can get a hold of and who understands that good communication skills require listening too.

They separate themselves from competition.
An effective realtor understands that their specific market-knowledge, personality and sales skills are all ways to separate themselves from competition. Most importantly, as more realtors are building up their sales portfolio, they’re easily able to validate that they understand the current market and know how to effectively list and sell home so that they sell.

Find out if they’re connected

It’s important in a number of professions to be connected to large networks or regularly participate in networking events.

Naturally, networking is a large part of real estate. Real estate is a relationship-based business.

Having large personal or professional networks, means that your listing can get into the hands of many, many more people.

It’s also what makes realtors so great at their job.

After all, most people who choose to pursue real estate have a natural affinity for talking to people, building meaningful relationships and selling confidently to get a deal done.

That is… if you’re working with the best in the business.

Pick a realtor that’s tech savvy

Not unexpectedly, being tech savvy and forward thinking is always a strategic asset.
